<br />
I've been trying to regroup over here and concentrate on advancing myself along this shiny making road, learn new things, go new ways, see what new things I could do. Set my mind to it, pulled out some books and tutorials I had stashed, bought some new ones, sat down and got to work.<br />
<br />
None of them worked. Nothing. Nada. Grrrrr, Roar, Not a single one. I was getting more than a little frustrated. But, I kept trying. I took a couple days off, set those books and tutorials aside, came back to it and tried different ones. Finally, I found some I could manage. And I am soooooooo excited about it!!! WhooHOO! Finally some shinies worked out. 2 even. 2 whole new techniques of win.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That rocks.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The first one was a picture only tutorial by Fradany. I'm stoked about it because I've been struggling with the concept of layering and this was quite helpful. I'm also stoked because... I totally screwed it up. My pendant went a bit awry, but that's even better because in my attempts to recover and save it, I pull from bits and pieces of past failed tutorial projects (yay) and what I came up with was this...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2RMLhXIILIoJtk6MZTfrl8iLsB0LHFTBHCbaiQb83SnsxCl3zZovDZNI5dpVrU4C68PahB4CL7HhQpH4X-ZLwQwcZM1tFARysH7Rmc3BVMgm5sJUoWmG4YwFXQ0cu6wEczeg4n_LwQo4/s1600/DSC_9851.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2RMLhXIILIoJtk6MZTfrl8iLsB0LHFTBHCbaiQb83SnsxCl3zZovDZNI5dpVrU4C68PahB4CL7HhQpH4X-ZLwQwcZM1tFARysH7Rmc3BVMgm5sJUoWmG4YwFXQ0cu6wEczeg4n_LwQo4/s1600/DSC_9851.jpg" height="285" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Not quite how it was suppose to look but I like it even better. It's a lot... swirlier. And I'm all kinds of proud of myself. :D Yay, go me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The second project of win is from a tutorial I've been sitting on for a looooong while now. It's by one of my favorite wire artists, Iza Malczyk and...I was totally intimidated by it. Been looking at it for many many a month now. Chickened out each time. But, I figured if I couldn't pull it off, what was one more tutorial fail. I'd done one of hers before and rocked it so maybe I could rock this one too. If I could actually pull it off... omg the win. It's a major shiny goal to learn this style. Major, major, major. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So, I held my breath, and went for it. Twice. Then, OMG lookie what I made!!!!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhee42xj6O1vxaCiklzCV6dKc7oRV13tRe7b3TeuBQGFxJ5HJUG207Ipp2EPx1FzL3GZZuBGE3B5cFOzKbYkKyrz5J-krzFkW32AU7C4bmmM5G5rJ1nsI8tBQs7K6aR3YPZibaIg_ssurg/s1600/DSC_9852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhee42xj6O1vxaCiklzCV6dKc7oRV13tRe7b3TeuBQGFxJ5HJUG207Ipp2EPx1FzL3GZZuBGE3B5cFOzKbYkKyrz5J-krzFkW32AU7C4bmmM5G5rJ1nsI8tBQs7K6aR3YPZibaIg_ssurg/s1600/DSC_9852.jpg" height="285" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I did it I did it I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All by myself. I learned how to solder it, file it, weave it, swirl it, curl it, whoopdy doo it and... I dunno, other stuff too. YAAAAAAAY!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I learned it!! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am so stoked. These 2 shinies were huge for me. There are lots and LOTS of new techniques going on with these and I can't wait to see where they take me. My brain is all esplody with the possibilities.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I... did it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Haven't been this excited in a long time. WhooHoo go me!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
:D</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>

And something so very difficult to do. I've tried several different things, and was rather satisfied with the vintage looking brown and burgundy tree background I had going on. Mostly. Sadly, it wasn't the best for all shiny. Was ok, but... not great.<br />
<br />
Lately, I've been looking into branching out with things like juried art shows, contests, publications maybe... I dunno exactly yet, but whatever I branch out into, it all requires photos be submitted. Fabulous photos that make an impact, look professional and make people take notice. Easy peasy, no pressure....<br />
<br />
*sigh* or not.<br />
<br />
I figured the best way to start trying to figure out what I want things to look like was to just start playing. I went and got some plain neutral backgrounds that will hopefully go with /everything/, reset up the light box, grabbed a couple of my favorite pieces and set at it. What I came up with was this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Sonora Sunrise Cab Tree...<br />

I managed to get caught up on a couple of orders, finish a couple pieces I'd set aside and even make a few new things for the Etsy or summer booth I'm trying to set up this year. All while trying not to kill myself and work in a few real life tasks as well.<br />
<br />
I think it went pretty well. Yay.<br />
<br />
So what's 4 days of shiny look like? It looks a little something like this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijx42cX-mUV0uUBqw81PoH9Hs314ujIS2InrgtoSj6IFWGPjtCdHlHgfABXv-m7nNPx642K3ZceHWqGVVSnipxz-H9u50V6Oj288xjHMx2tSEMqTLGCrHBTroHfYv1ymyswgC9rQS8z4A/s1600/2014-04-21+11.16.47.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijx42cX-mUV0uUBqw81PoH9Hs314ujIS2InrgtoSj6IFWGPjtCdHlHgfABXv-m7nNPx642K3ZceHWqGVVSnipxz-H9u50V6Oj288xjHMx2tSEMqTLGCrHBTroHfYv1ymyswgC9rQS8z4A/s1600/2014-04-21+11.16.47.jpg" height="241" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
It's a pile of shiny, that's for sure.<br />
<br />
In the pile is... 2 woven bangles, one plain, one swirly, 2 copper writer's bracelets (tourmaline), a new silver writer's tree of life bracelet (tourmaline), and a plethora of trees. A Sonora Sunrise, labradorite and chrysoprase cabochon trees, a set of Lapis tree earrings and a Larimar scrolled chip tree.<br />
<br />
Not to bad, if I do say so myself. I didn't actually make the woven bangles this weekend, but did manage to figure out how to finish them up. That was a big relief. With 20+ hours of weaving in those bad boys, it was silly to leave them sitting in the unfinished/what the hell do I do now pile.<br />
<br />
Now I need to work on my listings and get back on some orders. Busy busy!<br />
<br />

<br />
They are rare Ammolite Fossils; an opalized version of Ammonite. They are full of amazing shimmer and flashes of bright, vivid colors that seem to burst in different patterns.<br />
<br />
Ah-mazing.<br />
<br />
I tried real hard to capture some of what the different stones do with different angles of light. Indoors.<br />

Been a long while since I've blogged any shinies. Actually, it's been a long while since I have made shinies to blog. Slowly but surely the shinies are coming back tho. Finally. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yay for that!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Been working on a few over the past couple of weeks. Got a good whupin' on them this weekend. My biggest project right now was 2 sets of new scrolly trees. After a gazillion tries on the second set of earrings, I finally managed to get 2 frames to be the same size. I find this important when making a pair of... anything. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I still struggle with making the same thing twice. Darn two-fers anyway.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A gazillion tries and 3 days later I finally got it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My new scrolly tree sets :D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguoEwNiB3xm1aycDTL41mjenruoib_HtehS1kp330lF1HKI4ThN6mC_pGAn9AKDPV0HVsXw8ZxpibN0fE4wN4RV7-X4x7ah8zliU7WZRO4Oj5u73FCYZBgSHbBNw6r9KQn2m684o-4y9g/s1600/DSC_9191.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguoEwNiB3xm1aycDTL41mjenruoib_HtehS1kp330lF1HKI4ThN6mC_pGAn9AKDPV0HVsXw8ZxpibN0fE4wN4RV7-X4x7ah8zliU7WZRO4Oj5u73FCYZBgSHbBNw6r9KQn2m684o-4y9g/s1600/DSC_9191.jpg" height="285" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They are Amethyst and Aquamarine. :) I still need to antique the blue set of earrings so they will match the pendant, and make ear wires but they are pretty well ready to rock. Yay. :D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
While I was frustrating myself with fighting those tree earring frames, I took a bit of break and decided to work on a couple of other on going projects I'd set aside. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One was a full moon chip tree. It ended up being Turquoise and fresh water pearl...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLDcT89fyZENgoRTnoHuNTd9s1MddtdqwJBRoqNUs-Tq8qlb9CzICdXMA6Mm4qVlvxutX4XeNSguec93NcQDgeJLYsiVrpWatfxW6-jliIAdtndOUqNWsgcIM1XRNyoTwUhCaeBcIOix0/s1600/DSC_9193.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLDcT89fyZENgoRTnoHuNTd9s1MddtdqwJBRoqNUs-Tq8qlb9CzICdXMA6Mm4qVlvxutX4XeNSguec93NcQDgeJLYsiVrpWatfxW6-jliIAdtndOUqNWsgcIM1XRNyoTwUhCaeBcIOix0/s1600/DSC_9193.jpg" height="285" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Then, just for giggles, I antiqued a couple of cab trees I made a while back and <strike>lost</strike> forgot about ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJy6Mp8ssLqLyeKPHdiilOElOTLag9UMQ3NL4CTFIYLHrkl7wa3wp4ml0vVpTAkvPypdNMKag5F5U6PSZML5weiAdSqa-AbRqWpovnm0xkcx2h0-bKvz36hBmzW1gCqKEUtu7TWOkHNW8/s1600/DSC_9192.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJy6Mp8ssLqLyeKPHdiilOElOTLag9UMQ3NL4CTFIYLHrkl7wa3wp4ml0vVpTAkvPypdNMKag5F5U6PSZML5weiAdSqa-AbRqWpovnm0xkcx2h0-bKvz36hBmzW1gCqKEUtu7TWOkHNW8/s1600/DSC_9192.jpg" height="285" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
One is a lapis and the other... a giant Moss Agate with a white whispy center that reminds me of catching a glimpse of clouds thru a break in the tree canopy.<br />
<br />
Not a bad shiny weekend. :)<br />
<br />
This week my plan is to finish up my tree sets, work on a heart shaped scrolly tree brooch and 2 tourmaline writer's bracelets. Totally doable I think. Fingers crossed.<br />
<br />
Adventures in shiny. Tis coming back.<br />
<br />
Yaaaaaaaaay!!<br />
<br />
<br />Freiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485424380074216407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8539636115911800874.post-25576377951125717572014-02-14T06:52:00.003-08:002014-02-14T06:52:32.597-08:00Gem Show Goodies! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Every February the local bead store owner goes on her annual buying trip to the hugeamous Tuscon Gem Show. Every year I try to save all I can and go on my own annual buying trip when she returns. At lunchtime yesterday I thought I'd call to see when she may be returning with treasure for me. To my surprise... she was back already. Me... I couldn't get there fast enough.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The poor dear wasn't ready for me yet. Everything was still in bags and she was working on pricing things. Not that that stopped me. Bless her heart, she let me sit down with a bunch of bags and take whatever I wanted. First pick of all the goodies. I was like a kid in a candy shop!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was so excited! She brought me back lots of cabochons this year. It's the first time she's restocked cabs since I first found her 3 yrs ago. I was spinning like a little top as she just emptied bag after bag in a bucket for me to sort thru. Oh.So.SHINY!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sadly, lunchtime wasn't long enough for this mission, so I went back after work. More time meant more shinies. She just kept pulling out bag after bag of bead strands and pendant stones for me to look at. Then bags and bags of faceted stones to ... tease me with. Facets weren't ready to come home with me yet, but soon. I did end up with quite the haul of unfaceted goodies. I can't wait to make something with them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Shiny trip #1 landed me...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Dragonblood, Chrysocolla and Citrine nuggets and a pile of large Ocean Jasper pendant stones. I got a little carried away with those but... couldn't help it. So many colors! and a lot of them have glitter sparkles in them! I mean srsly. How could I restrain myself? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

It's my shiny making anniversary today! :D :D My second. Freia Inguz Artisan Jewelry is 2. WhooWhoo!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And it's all because of you guys. I totally love you. Thank you all for all your support, kind words and sharing the love of shinies with me thru my shiny adventures. You guys rock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To celebrate, I made a new medallion. You know, to start the year with something special. I was taking pics of it last night when I noticed a tiny tiny chip in the stone next to the drill hole, so I can't list it. Well, I could, no one would probably even have noticed, but I noticed sooooo... no. That's just not how I roll.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was more than a little bummed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I decided, I can't sell it BUT, as suggested by a friend, I can give it to someone. But I couldn't decide who to give it too. Then I got to thinking of all of you, and... it might just make a fancy schmancy giveaway piece. So here we are. </div>

<br />
Shocking. I know.<br />
<br />
I can't help it. I learned a new shiny. :D Woven bangle bracelet shinies.<br />
<br />
Go me.<br />
<br />
Bangles and cuffs have been on the radar all year. Another on the long list of things I want to learn how to make but never find the time. This weekend I found myself all caught up, with 2 half finished medallions that don't want to cooperate and a cab tree that was fighting me every step of the way when I decided... forget this. I'm not fighting with these. I'm gonna learn something new. So in keeping with the weaving I've been practicing the last several months, I pulled out a new book I got on my last trip to Powell's Books, Weaving Freeform Wire Jewelry by Kaska Firor and went for it.<br />
<br />
Somewhere around 10 hrs later, I had a bracelet. :D<br />
<br />

<br />
A bangle bracelet even. :D I don't like the hook clasp so I need to come up with something better, and it came out waaaaay too small, but I absolutely love it. I've been working on a very similar thing with stones in the center and others with a different weave pattern, but I'd been having trouble pulling it all together. The book filled in the missing pieces for me which was awesome.<br />
<br />
The whole bangle/woven bracelet thing has been chasing me around for a long while now. It's been my idea for men's shinies, which I totally lack in, or if not boy bling then some nice unisex shinies that make me go whoowhoo!<br />
<br />
Enter bracelet try #2...<br />
<br />
whoowhoo!<br />
<br />

<br />
Same, only different. No swirlies and thicker weave. It's still too small, still needs a better closure, but... am totally diggin' it. Tonight I plan to antique it, see what it looks like.<br />
<br />
Even though they are both too small, even for my tiny wrists, I was able to add some extension links that made them workable. I've been test driving them today and I am head over heels. They are nice and strong, sturdy feeling. They feel comfy. They are not getting snagged or hung up on anything or coming unclasped. Or any other plethora of things that can go wrong. I am well pleased.<br />
<br />
New woven bangle bracelets. Coming soon.<br />
<br />
WhooWhoo!!!!<br />

Ok, maybe not that long, but several weeks anyway. It's for a pair of 14k gold and faceted Ruby earrings, similar to a pair of sterling Tanzinite earrings I made a while back. Unsure of exactly how to make pair similar yet different enough, without costing $1000.00, I've tried a couple things, but couldn't get it just right. No matter what I tried to do, the top wrap kept bothering me, but I wasn't sure how to eliminate it. It's wire. It needs some kind of join. And I don't solder very well, soooo... *sigh* nada.<br />
<br />
Last night I thought I'd try a whole new way. I'm rather pleased with it. No big bulky wrap. Yay :D<br />
<br />
Since I'm so nervous about working with a material as spendy as 14k gold, I wanted to make sure everything would work just right, so I made up a finished pair in copper, wrapped in some faceted garnet, and volia!<br />

They are a good size hoop. The front looks nice, but to be quite honest, I kinda like the back too. The wire seems to frame each stone. In gold, that would look nice.<br />

They hang nicely...<br />

<br />
And the wire is a thick guage that I've hand hammered to give it a thicker front profile, but they aren't thick or bulky looking...<br />

<br />
I'm rather pleased. The gold pair would have different ear wires, I'm thinking a gold lever back, so they would be extra secure. A little extra security strikes me as a good thing with where the project may go.<br />
<br />
If all goes well, I may have my first pair of solid gold shiny. I'm rather excited. It's a material I just didn't think I'd work with anytime soon. It's a bit scary. And totally exciting. :D<br />
<br />
Adventures in shinies. Woot!!<br />

I think I've settled on a few of the new trees, perhaps the Aquamarine cab, the Seraphinite full moon earrings, and the Ethiopian Fire Opal tree. Pondering sending over the 3 new medallions as well, to see how they like them. But, before I clear them out of the Etsy and send them I thought I'd have a sale. :D<br />
<br />
I like sales. Sales are fun!<br />

Yes there is! I seem to measure things in a number of pieces kind of way these days and past that ... doesn't much matter. And lately, number of pieces is rather... low.<br />
<br />
Sometimes, the shiny cooperates and things get ta'crankin'. Sometimes... it seems like I have to fight with every shiny, at every turn. Work it, rework it, then rework it some more.<br />
<br />
It's definitely been one of /those/ times.<br />
<br />
But, slow is not bad. Slow is just slow. More deliberate. And usually full of learning. Learning is good. Vera good. Been lots and LOTS of the learnin' lately. Not all on accident either. :D<br />
<br />
In and amongst the slow going new pieces and the lots and lots of learning, the last week has also brought some fantastic news. Some over the top, uber great, fantabulous news even.<br />
<br />
First off, I got such a great response on my garnet woven heart pendant when I was planning my <a href="http://freiainguz.blogspot.com/2013/11/november-shiny-giveaway.html">giveaway</a>...<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://freiainguz.blogspot.com/2013/11/november-shiny-giveaway.html" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6CSqN5HR7QmNGV66Doqow49LdhTmZ_ZNbWUjhjU5GyEx-FfTJhGG_k6j3gNhEftiK3Ytg6s96Ase_aajeRdYPZDXX2u8DNJIizu-yM9T2qmODbT7bNpga3SANdKTSgTOUhtPAMJ8M3Dw/s320/DSC_8719.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Click picture to enter giveaway</i></b></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
...that I decided to stop being shy and nervous, and contact the designer of the pattern/tutorial I used to see if she'd mind if I made some to sell. Well, I heard back from her last week and... she was so nice!! She said I could make and sell as many as I wanted! :D :D She hoped I had lots of fun, made money and wished me well. I was so excited by that! I really want to learn more weaving, and I want to learn from the best. I want to learn from Nicole Hanna. And the pieces are SO awesome, I also want to be able to sell as I go. And now I can. WhooWHOO! There will definitely be more woven jewelry like the garnet heart pendant coming down the pike.<br />
<br />
The other uber fantabulous news was from the Gallery over on the coast. I called them up last week, not expecting anything really, maybe just ... touch base. See what's up. Find out if I ever even gave them everything I needed to, or if I'd forgotten something. Ya know. Like the artist statement I totally spaced O.O<br />
<br />
Oops.<br />
<br />
I expected her to tell me how it was the off season, no one is shopping until Christmas, but it's ok because that's normal here and send me your statement.<br />
<br />
That is not what happened.<br />
<br />
Turns out, my stuff started selling right away. O.O<br />
Like the first week even. O.O<br />
Like... my inventory is almost 1/2 gone already. O.O<br />
O.O<br />
I was in shock. Am still in shock. She ended the coversation with...Please to be making more, fast, and send it over. Anything. Everything. Quickly. It's about to pick up. Christmas is coming.<br />
O.O<br />
<br />
Um... Ok. Holy wow.<br />
<br />
I may start hyperventilating again just thinking about it. I'm still a tad excited.<br />
<br />
Now that I think about it, maybe that's why the pieces are so slow in coming. I'm trying to get all caught up so I can make new things for Breach the Moon, AND make new stuff for my Etsy because Christmas IS coming, and and and... I may be pushing it too hard. The shinies don't like to be pushed. They like to do their own thing. Pushing makes them mad and they rebell and won't play nice.<br />
<br />
Stubborn little things.<br />
<br />
I did manage to win a couple rounds though. I got a new Aquamarine/Amethyst/Sapphire/Quartz Birthstone tree done...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It's a fully redesigned medallion I've been working on for weeks now. It's a 925 Sterling and 999 Fine Silver Garnet Medallion. It looks like the others, but it's actually quite different. I'm using the new weave I've been playing with for the backing, much tighter this time. I wanted to try to use it in a bit more open design instead of just using it for anchor points. My goal is to figure out how to weave it so it can actually be a design element all by itself.<br />
<br />
I see much potential.<br />
<br />
Another big deal with this one was the Fine Silver. It's my first time working with it. Now I wonder why it's taken me so long! Wow, oh wow, just wow.<br />
<br />
I used it for the unwrapped outer ring and the scrolls. It can be fused, instead of soldered, gets wonderfully soft and malleable when heated and the ends ball up in absolutely wonderful little perfect balls of perfection.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZAQXfKw5Rj6GxqBKy8QM92hfnQfRliW_VQV0lONnqX7TbAZ0t-JrAWg2LRUOVfoC91bG9d00X8K7MDoZzunkmjiiN8A4RW3V24QyHA_btHuLr7hcub77CsqlwyQD_qCWwMXW1yTH8lgY/s1600/DSC_8742.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZAQXfKw5Rj6GxqBKy8QM92hfnQfRliW_VQV0lONnqX7TbAZ0t-JrAWg2LRUOVfoC91bG9d00X8K7MDoZzunkmjiiN8A4RW3V24QyHA_btHuLr7hcub77CsqlwyQD_qCWwMXW1yTH8lgY/s400/DSC_8742.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
It's soooooooooo different than sterling! I'm in love with it. Absolutely in love.<br />
<br />
Can't wait to play with that some more.<br />
<br />
My little medallion is a far cry from the pearls and swirls I was going for, but that's ok. I am so proud of this jewel. Lots of cool new things going on it that. Lots and LOTS!<br />
<br />
Permissions and Galleries AND new shinies. Twas a busier week than I remembered. :D<br />

The holidays are
coming fast, right around the corner even, and I wanted to do some special things
this year before things got overwhelming and lost in the shuffle. I’ve been
thinking maybe things along the lines of special sales, and maybe some
giveaways. I do love giveaways. Yep yep.
Been a long while since I've done one, so I figured I’d start there. Wasn't
sure what piece to use though. While I was trying to organize things a bit last
weekend, I re-found a piece I did several months back when I was trying to
teach myself weaving. You may remember it if you follow the blog. It's from a
Nicole Hanna tutorial pattern I did; a little copper woven heart
shiny, with a big ol' garnet in it…</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I had a busy weekend over here. Managed to get caught up on some listings and finish a few pieces I've had laying around 1/2 done.<br />
<br />
A new Aurora Borealis tree finally made if off the table and in to the Etsy...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All finished up and even listed too :D Go me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The big whoowhoo for the weekend was my new medallion. I've made several now, but I've been trying to come up with a better way of doing them. A faster way. The medallions currently take about 10 - 12 hrs to make, if not more, and that's a lot. I wanted to find a way that works well, takes less time, and looks good too. Surely that's not asking too much. Right?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, I think I did it. I've been working on learning some new techniques and it seemed very promising for the backing I'm doing on these. (that part alone took 2-3hrs, if all went well) I was vera excited. It worked up faster, looked better but without actually making a medallion with it, I had no idea if it was going to work out. So, This weekend I tried puting it all together, and voila! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjilVf31kFgOoLtv-3YLTsmlP4WnE41B-Rk2GT6uMQNs4sSvg4U-8Ff2cJXVr51iQclZD_vuk5fL6gWYvKJTbePBnOyCKz6SbUHnuekQu-7vb0j_s4wKvyNXZdhBhx_D87UFl8Ipe3rOyc/s1600/DSC_8712.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjilVf31kFgOoLtv-3YLTsmlP4WnE41B-Rk2GT6uMQNs4sSvg4U-8Ff2cJXVr51iQclZD_vuk5fL6gWYvKJTbePBnOyCKz6SbUHnuekQu-7vb0j_s4wKvyNXZdhBhx_D87UFl8Ipe3rOyc/s320/DSC_8712.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A new, redesigned, Jade Infinity Medallion. The new backing worked wonderfully!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/167980809/antique-sterling-silver-jade-infinity?ref=shop_home_feat"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgab_52mBYrc-FRiu51X22B0B3eTyKUrPcZJgB3qBSJTCwY22JmAxQTB1rvbakAH_WodSht3hpgjzHBctPCtoGlvPxzxBmo_-PYWZf7wqIGP2HpPmu5FlA_g_hrkBuz5kZlLclo6Hf7U8M/s320/DSC_8714.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The netting I used before served me pretty well for anchor points for the scrolls and did well for giving the illusion of a solid piece. The problem was, visually it wasn't what I was after, so I had to concentrate of filling all the space on the medallion with scrolls or stones, or... whatever, to hide the web. The new way is not only faster, but it's more solid, works better, gives me more anchor spots, and I think it's going to work well visually when I want more open space in the piece.<br />
<br />
I am so vera excited about all these things.<br />
<br />
I tried the infinity scroll design with it first, to see how it would work for a piece that needed many anchor points. It all worked out beautifully. Next time I think I'll try it out on a more open piece. I have a couple new designs bouncing around in my head that wouldn't work before and I can't wait to try them. If it works as well as I think, I may have just opened up a gazillion new possibilities for medallions.<br />
<br />
That rocks mah socks.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
New pieces and ongoing projects... I haz 'em. Several many even. Getting them listed however... not so much. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Out of my 6 new pieces, I've managed to get a whole whoppin' 1 listed. My new Malachite Cab Tree, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/166158768/sterling-silver-malachite-tree-of-life?ref=shop_home_active">"Kentucky Bluegrass"</a> is up...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/166158768/sterling-silver-malachite-tree-of-life?ref=shop_home_active"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://img0.etsystatic.com/041/0/6662372/il_570xN.514328240_cqir.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
... truth be told, it's only listed because an awesome friend wrote the blurb for me. They rock the blurb thing sooooo much better than I do. Truth be told... I totally suck at it. Which is part of the reason it takes me so long to get listings done. Shinies grrl does not rock the wordsmithing. Not even a little bit. I just want to make the shinies. Not write about them. The whole listing thing takes too long. And it's no fun. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Darn listing thing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyhoo, with one down, that leaves 5 to go...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My once lost but now found Faceted Tsavorite Garnet/Ruby Apple Tree, Gold Rutilated Quartz/Peridot Fall Aspen Tree, Aquamarine Cabochon Tree, Aurora Borealis Labradorite Cab Tree and my new Sterling/Charoite Scroll Medallion. With a little luck, and better time management, hopefully those will be listed this week. :)<br />
<br />
In and amongst all this other jazz that's been going on, like taxes and... life... I managed to make some progress one some of my other projects. The one I'm trying to finish up first is a book bling project I've been knockin' around for too many months to count. I've blogged some ideas in the past. Twas the scorpion...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji2fXe11xh2XID-YGrhwlIKtSbN0iVtdtaRAcsNNmoU0cE0nSc_ffD19xkLlY7kiMoNhtFkgPaQFRm-BnSZ1RnJiZJVbU0LcOL9lRKy4zlqKNI8plc563br2V9s8CVDN4indqP7FVWzAA/s1600/DSCN1496.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="142" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji2fXe11xh2XID-YGrhwlIKtSbN0iVtdtaRAcsNNmoU0cE0nSc_ffD19xkLlY7kiMoNhtFkgPaQFRm-BnSZ1RnJiZJVbU0LcOL9lRKy4zlqKNI8plc563br2V9s8CVDN4indqP7FVWzAA/s200/DSCN1496.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
... but in the end, I didn't like it. Wasn't feelin' it. This weekend, the project morphed itself into this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEgAteuNJM2MHHV8HdA81aO7sHHyk8pXGq0E_C4h4tf0RO7HLJuvyNey-vUFIIJwMHZkRpUnAh8rIm5gnT3kGKxskNnCv819HP0uQvPYHFW4clm0vykm7RqmwruupSAw3epDXLQl338F8/s1600/2013-10-20+17.40.18.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEgAteuNJM2MHHV8HdA81aO7sHHyk8pXGq0E_C4h4tf0RO7HLJuvyNey-vUFIIJwMHZkRpUnAh8rIm5gnT3kGKxskNnCv819HP0uQvPYHFW4clm0vykm7RqmwruupSAw3epDXLQl338F8/s320/2013-10-20+17.40.18.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
... a sterling silver scorpion medallion. I love it, love it, love it, love it. I'm holding off finishing it up while I try to decide if I want to put a stone in it somehow, somewhere. Perhaps a tiny garnet in the top infinity loop, or maybe where the frame wires come together at the top in the 'will be bail' section. Not sure yet. Not really even sure it needs a stone at all. Still pondering. Either way, I love it. UBER love it. Problem is... true to form, and as usual and all that jazz, I've kinda gone a bit overboard on the project. As much as I love the piece, I'm not entirely sure it fits the intended end use. Actually... I'm pretty darn sure it doesn't. *blushes* I get a little carried away when I get excited. To those of you that know me... that's probably not a huge shocker. And... I did it again. Can't help it. Excitable shinymaker is excitable. So, since I've gone so over the top with the whole deal, I'm also working on a much more simplified shiny for the project. One that will perhaps fit the intended use of the piece. I figure, options are always good. Can't hurt anyway. Right? Right. So, until I finish that one too, the project remains ongoing.<br />
<br />
However, getting the medallion to a mostly finished state, I felt like I had some breathing room. For a minute. So I let the shiny muse wander. With all the medallions I've been working on and all the scrolls I've been making, I've had a gazillion ideas run thru my head. Sadly, I've not allowed them the time they need to actually become anything. Uber sadly, when I don't allow them to run wild, I lose them. While I was working on the scorpion one last weekend, I thru a few other scrolls in a pile out of the way and when I looked back down they screamed... EARRINGS! Feeling like I could take the time to explore the idea a bit, I went for it; made some of the scrolls larger, wrapped in some garnets and ended up with some accidentally pretty cool little scrolly component thingies...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKOScYKg-tz2lUs5BV032amt8zjQBYhAIdYKBBiLWgvDAvI7MUEQ6ikVj4VYWrWeI0Twg2peSJfmKwExQ8x2U3Qw39HjIPJT3Soo8TY6P0Zmyyh76m7GRhU0JvJbRqPnthKNy95ihvA9U/s1600/20131021_072725.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKOScYKg-tz2lUs5BV032amt8zjQBYhAIdYKBBiLWgvDAvI7MUEQ6ikVj4VYWrWeI0Twg2peSJfmKwExQ8x2U3Qw39HjIPJT3Soo8TY6P0Zmyyh76m7GRhU0JvJbRqPnthKNy95ihvA9U/s400/20131021_072725.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Surely there is an earring in there somewhere. This week, I let myself play a bit more with it and...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0DGq8d6-UoB9CSJmoqmFWJK65cBBjxJqu6LOJCVTvuyQ2ZUHDL-aPTJXFy6JI128fkaBM_JLDjMXGyLsNJQOBk07B9ExN27Qd5ONwDHCn1XEi7H6SVD4mKum8ahB27HUP7ZuKdMRjdxQ/s1600/2013-10-22+07.32.33.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0DGq8d6-UoB9CSJmoqmFWJK65cBBjxJqu6LOJCVTvuyQ2ZUHDL-aPTJXFy6JI128fkaBM_JLDjMXGyLsNJQOBk07B9ExN27Qd5ONwDHCn1XEi7H6SVD4mKum8ahB27HUP7ZuKdMRjdxQ/s400/2013-10-22+07.32.33.png" width="253" /></a></div>
<br />
... oh yeah. Earring. Long, dangly, scrolly, garnet earring. Needs a real earwire, but I think even proto-type earring is a winner. Can't wait to try it in silver. Should be all kinds of shiny! :D<br />
<br />
New pieces, on going projects and even an accidental pair of earrings. Not to bad, if I do say so mahself.<br />
<br />
Now to get on those listings. Silly things don't seem to want to list themselves. Must get busy!<br />
<br />
Later taters!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />Freiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485424380074216407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8539636115911800874.post-5949057430646979372013-10-02T13:27:00.000-07:002013-10-02T13:34:10.514-07:00A vera exciting shiny vacation<br />
Things have slowed down a bit over here, shiny wise. Feels that way anyway, considering how much I used to crank out. Life got a little... berserk...so I decided I needed to escape for a bit. Told work I was outta here and went on a short vacation. To the beach.<br />
<br />
Everything is just better at the beach.<br />
<br />
So I loaded up all my shiny supplies (cuz surely I'd be wire wrapping my little heart out) and headed out. While I was there I managed to make...<br />
<br />
nada.<br />
<br />
Not a single thing.<br />
<br />
When I got home however, I managed to finish up several goodies. A couple of writer's bracelets I had on order, and a new kind of Tree Charm Bracelet...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidR9RYtumbhcFC8iiNBPu-ZAm4KQtrkLv_JRxXpac4ZeiXY4QBIzeGkqnkbM1T7rrW-DU5SUPqb9Fe3nOI6S_7z4HmrQ_916aVgHEUl40HbGMIMkhUj1-F8wAFHq6Dy9vL4q4MG3Rkt0g/s1600/20131001_073529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidR9RYtumbhcFC8iiNBPu-ZAm4KQtrkLv_JRxXpac4ZeiXY4QBIzeGkqnkbM1T7rrW-DU5SUPqb9Fe3nOI6S_7z4HmrQ_916aVgHEUl40HbGMIMkhUj1-F8wAFHq6Dy9vL4q4MG3Rkt0g/s400/20131001_073529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Rather diggin' the tree charm idea. Bracelet itself needs more stones though. I think.<br />
<br />
The big shiny piece I finally finished up has me all excited. It's an Antique Silver Charoite Medallion. Been working on that baby forEVER. It finally all came together and...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi07T5CIiRJy2Aq_z8LV7_FHgiCpMNnrWUM6vtGsX-A3lJ5m7EKjfQ89ANAxkuThd-5OJBUI2s5O_ceci_jOU6eJciWZTFuKuSBX18OV4xDdP_CHwlTLNpHbN-s6lbZbzYDo67UTK5Zbl8/s1600/20131001_073849.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi07T5CIiRJy2Aq_z8LV7_FHgiCpMNnrWUM6vtGsX-A3lJ5m7EKjfQ89ANAxkuThd-5OJBUI2s5O_ceci_jOU6eJciWZTFuKuSBX18OV4xDdP_CHwlTLNpHbN-s6lbZbzYDo67UTK5Zbl8/s400/20131001_073849.jpg" width="285" /></a></div>
<br />
is UBER shiny! Note to self: No, you can't keep it. This one isn't for you.<br />
<br />
Darn self wants to keep all the shinies these days.<br />
<br />
The BIG and vera exciting part of my vacation was...<br />
<br />
OMG I'M IN A GALLERY NOW!!!! A REAL LIVE UBER FANCY ONE EVEN!! :D :D :D<br />
<br />
It's called Breach the Moon...<br />
<span id="goog_1253643782"></span><span id="goog_1253643783"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.breachthemoon.com/"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis-Q9-IZS-ThMwMs6AcRSB4KTn1H_xtiOvFDSLRYze-JVvaBVumtr9loQ4dWkDJwEYYn9ttNmhavOdI6rMJCTDPOIhyphenhyphenKVCKscPBtcnVmjj0uehTtD9LK_zPnnTfzcVVHI_E5h9DYClCIs/s1600/logo_breachmoon.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
and it's down on the historic bayfront in Newport, Oregon. The go to place for shopping on the central part of the Oregon Coast. Not sure if it's even possible to go to the coast and not go to the warf for a bit of shopping fun. It's just not done.<br />
<br />
The whole thing came about rather by accident. I'd been approached while shopping for daughter up in Lincoln City by a lady at a rock and gem shop when she noticed my tree necklace. We chatted for a bit and I left... totally turned off and more than a bit scared. I'd brought my trees with me, just in case I got brave, but what that lady was telling me was just... not at all going to work for me. Especially given where and what her shop was. I decided to hold off on the whole getting into real life stores thing, for now.<br />
<br />
The next day I headed to Newport for some bayfront awesome, walked in to Breach the Moon to drool over the art and the shinies when the sales woman noticed my necklace too.<br />
<br />
"OMG what a beautiful necklace!"<br />
<br />
"Thank you. *beams* I made it."<br />
<br />
"You did?! Wait.Right.Here. You simply MUST speak to my manager."<br />
<br />
"uh... ok..."<br />
<br />
The next thing I knew, the manager of the gallery wanted my trees. Whatever I had with me. One, or 100, she didn't care. She just wanted them. NOW.<br />
<br />
O.O<br />
<br />
Uh...<br />
<br />
O.O<br />
<br />
Ok. :D :D :D<br />
<br />
I went back to the hotel, tried to make some makeshift displays that look 1/2 way decent and carried them in the next day. She took them... ALL.<br />
<br />
ALL!<br />
<br />
I am now featured in a "Fine Art and Jewelry Gallery".<br />
<br />
I still may be full of a bit of ... SKWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D :D :D :D<br />
<br />
Before I came home, I managed to go back one last time, and they had already started putting the trees out. This time I managed to control my shaking to fire off 1 clear pic of one of the displays. Each display is in a glass case and designed to look like a fancy aquarium... type thingy. With corals and shells and and and...<br />

<br />
...lots of shiny. Now with my little ol' tree of life hanging out with the other shinies. :D<br />
<br />
I still feel a bit like I'm in a dream. I had hoped someday to be able to be in such a place. Down on the bayfront. In one of a couple of their 'look but don't touch' awesome galleries. This very one even. Someday. Ya know, when I "made it". Never in a million years did I think that day was today.<br />
<br />
Best accidental awesome ever.<br />
<br />
EVER!!!<br />
<br />
I... am in a gallery. Not just a shop, but a gall-er-yyyyyyy.<br />
<br />
If I'm dreaming, please don't pinch me. I don't wanna wake up. I wanna be in a gallery. :D :D<br />
<br />
And I am.<br />
<br />
I still can't breathe when I think about it.<br />
<br />
Now I need to make new trees. Because I don't have a single one. Not a single solitary one.<br />
<br />
Best get wrappin'!<br />
<br />
ps: SKWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!<br />
<br />
:D :D :D<br />
<br />
Best adventure in jewelry ever.<br />
<br />
The end.<br />
<br />
:D<br />

A whole new wire, a whole new wrap, a whole new... shiny :D<br />
<br />
For months now, maybe even the last year, I've wanted to make layered bracelets. I love the layered look. Always have. I've been trying to make multi-chained bracelets by wrapping stones w/sterling and chaining them together, but oh my, time consuming! Not only time consuming, but not giving me the look I'm after. Not ... exactly. This week, I thought I'd give memory wire a try. Grabbed my strand of Rainbow Fluorite chips and ...<br />
<br />
voila!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj09KBnK1OK08qSfp7fm9lmxHXEmQtoOWr3xxkv4EjP-hQyl6viYKmv4m1p4LoKRtptzaU8BtI5Rggf-4L0HYgVT2mPKMYQNih7umOJACDVNYWWzyypzI1BNtRHNMtaKtBavdxIjPdWitQ/s1600/DSC_8566.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj09KBnK1OK08qSfp7fm9lmxHXEmQtoOWr3xxkv4EjP-hQyl6viYKmv4m1p4LoKRtptzaU8BtI5Rggf-4L0HYgVT2mPKMYQNih7umOJACDVNYWWzyypzI1BNtRHNMtaKtBavdxIjPdWitQ/s320/DSC_8566.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Magic Coil Bracelet! :D<br />
<br />
I love it! It's just what I wanted it to look like. And it's super cool too. Coil after coil that just wraps around and holds it's shape quite nicely...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUQrHoTsM7DNZq8W3a8lOaEAe1ZgbMBTtd4K92p8pJsAF6mhRSW6UmJtOOZF-wG2YFWFcYRSwEC5Jy6OIPtUZMWxrKg1gm7OME31ep5j45mIOKbXQJC1BNcrlvlL1HKYrB6OglFnS0UHQ/s1600/DSC_8570.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUQrHoTsM7DNZq8W3a8lOaEAe1ZgbMBTtd4K92p8pJsAF6mhRSW6UmJtOOZF-wG2YFWFcYRSwEC5Jy6OIPtUZMWxrKg1gm7OME31ep5j45mIOKbXQJC1BNcrlvlL1HKYrB6OglFnS0UHQ/s320/DSC_8570.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's not sterling, but silver plated stainless steel... I think. Rather cost effective. Not quite as quick to put together as I'd hoped, but that could just be because I keep dropping all the chips. Oops. Things tend to take longer when you're chasing stones across the floor.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeR9BETYEKRv2TPbI3WqGgQC5_Am40vnt_vtMybj5ynl6QKtXCZAkzL12CRKJXlu-lipvC9C5DPnokj4SD3B8Tc0t7N1lvyTo1zTzOfvwf6aubmE-iSB2q4qx5Ebwdg9coZeJSoRm0tZg/s1600/DSC_8572.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeR9BETYEKRv2TPbI3WqGgQC5_Am40vnt_vtMybj5ynl6QKtXCZAkzL12CRKJXlu-lipvC9C5DPnokj4SD3B8Tc0t7N1lvyTo1zTzOfvwf6aubmE-iSB2q4qx5Ebwdg9coZeJSoRm0tZg/s320/DSC_8572.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I am totally diggin' it. I'm testing it out this week to make sure it holds up. As much as I adore the look of the coiled Fluorite chips with the beautiful colors and hodgepodge of sizes and shapes, I'm concerned about the stones. Chips are notorious for bad drills. Bad drills = break and fall off. I'm really hoping that won't be the case because I won't sell break and fall off shinies, but ... won't know for sure until I give 'er a good solid testing.<br />
<br />
If all goes well, I'll have some Magic Coil bracelets vera soon.<br />
<br />
Magic coil bracelets. Oh what fun!<br />
<br />
W00T!<br />

It's been a busy busy week over here. A lot of finishing up the last steps of some projects, dabbling with others, plotting and planning for others still. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The biggest things for me this week were actually managing to get a couple things listed. Like the copper/jade infinity medallion I've had laying around for weeks. And my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/161540164/silver-sheen-obsidian-sterling-silver?ref=shop_home_active">Mahogany / Silver Sheen Obsidian</a> tree too. :D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/161540164/silver-sheen-obsidian-sterling-silver?ref=shop_home_active"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii4fUTub8go2uJ3GWo0dSB3Za0459uEr1u66VCdNU9Lwj9fikG_rbwdeAtGfHpp3OY2_L6Qy0TAVVeuf691Rn6Eu88_Qlnm2C-A8VB7NzsDNC8ZHLs_PRL_7ddnLz1WNVAae2S2cUT0D8/s400/DSC_8481.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
*pets* It's name is Stargazing in the Bitterroot. :D *stares* Goodness, I love that stone. So unique. Kinda bummed I didn't get more of those. Hopefully he'll be back next summer, with more. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My uber big accomplishment this week are my new leather Tree of Life bracelets. The one I'm most excited about is my new <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/161841375/pride-rock-sterling-silver-tree-of-life?ref=listing-shop-header-1">LGBTQ Pride tree "Pride Rock"</a>...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/161841375/pride-rock-sterling-silver-tree-of-life?ref=listing-shop-header-1"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhPhq-61mNgOtNcy4lGQt7uTuqpJ7JabrSkanv9XzgmES1M6vjxCvXBvaf7JOelPw47888hHydtZMvzDNwbAH7gQ7O65oZuI5Q8Uk98Y1i4nim4JyfxLoIUPslEtlS0Y9n6c6jlnJyWDc/s400/DSC_8526.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
It's a rainbow tree with Garnet, Sunstone, Citrine, Peridot, Lapis and Amethyst.<br />
<br />
I really wanted to make a whole line of new tree bracelets, so I carried on. Now there is also an Antique Copper Pride Tree, and bare trees in both antique copper and antique silver.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Tymlk_r-vNyyTr0TW6rj12WgYnrrLq3I0NU9ssM9RNQ9WY4zlXUnqo7tYuhXlQ_BcmpYf4ssW657GWkTQfxmw7lV0hP25UvwnQiP9qPria5YbT4erQPXtZ-vOaalX8J5pDu85OECnVw/s1600/DSC_8546.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Tymlk_r-vNyyTr0TW6rj12WgYnrrLq3I0NU9ssM9RNQ9WY4zlXUnqo7tYuhXlQ_BcmpYf4ssW657GWkTQfxmw7lV0hP25UvwnQiP9qPria5YbT4erQPXtZ-vOaalX8J5pDu85OECnVw/s400/DSC_8546.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Bracelets a plenty! A whole new kind of tree grove even. W00T!<br />
<br />
Today's goal is getting those last 3 listed. And the poor antique silver labradorite cab tree that's been sitting here ever so patiently, waiting to be listed for weeks now.<br />
<br />
Best get busy!<br />
<br />
Shinies. W00T! :D<br />
