Not the most pleasant card.  But it doesn't always indicate major distress.  Often it is just a sign of some element of unhappiness or trouble ~ a vulnerable spot in your life.  Often a warning that the path you are going down may be a difficult one.

I would rather have pulled the Page of Wands than the 9 of Swords... that sure sounds like more fun.  And my Viking deck says it comes with a dark haired young man... hey... I want one ;)  Totally a more fun card.
