Card of the Day: The Moon. Yeah, I got all that.

Fear
Illusion
Imagination
Bewilderment

Celtic:  XVIII Sadbh ~ Sadbh is lured away from Almuhin.  With an illusion which re-evoked the appearance of Flinn and of his hounds, his spouse, Sadbh, was lured far away and was never glimpsed again by mortal eyes.

Illusions, visions, dreams, gentleness, deception, night.

Viking:  XVIII Mani ~ The Vikings viewed masculine aspect in the moon and feminine aspect in the sun.  The moon is the nocturnal light that captures light and controls it:  A magical being who dies in is born again for all eternity.  According to Viking myth, Mani was also a man who, while he was dying, gave himself up to the sun and became its slave.

Visions, magic, eccentricity, mistakes due to whims

My book says this card represents fear, illusion, imagination, bewilderment.

Feeling fear:  releasing inner demons, feeling a nameless apprehension, lacking courage, being overcome by anxieties... yeah, I got that.

Believing illusions: accepting a flase picture, deceivin yourself, having unrealistic ideas, misapprehending the truth, experiencing distortions... yeah, I got that.

Stimulating the imagination: having vivid dreams, entertaining unusual thoughts, being outlandish and bizarre... yeah, I got that.

Feeling bewildered: losing direction and purpose, having trouble thinking clearly, becoming confused, being easily distracted, feeling disoriented, wandering aimlessly... yeah, I got ALL that too.

Once again my deck nailed it. My card of the day... nailed it.

yay me.

The Magician

Today's card...

Action
Conscious Awareness
Concentration
Power

I find that interesting, considering the morning so far, and the day ahead as I see it.  Things that make me go... hm.

Off to work.  I do wish somewhere in that card it mentioned "stay awake". 4am was an awfully early wake up call.  I need more coffee.  Lots more coffee.

Back to the cards

It's been weeks since I've picked up my cards, or at least however long it's been since I did that last reading that seemed so dead on it was freaky.  I picked them up today, thought I'd get back to that card a day thing I was doing.

Today's card... Knave of Swords

Have Fortitude

face problems squarely
refuse to be discouraged
meet setbacks with renewed energy
keep a firm resolve
move out of depression
keep your chin up and head high
keep trying

The Page of Swords is a messenger bringing you challenges. He suggests that an opportunity for growth may come your way in the guise of a problem or dilemma. These challenges may not be your favorites. In fact, you probably will want to say "Thanks...but no thanks."

The Page of Swords asks you to embrace these difficult situations. Think of them as trials designed to test your mettle. If you accept and prevail, you will become stronger and more resilient. In meeting these challenges, you are encouraged to use the tools of the Swords suit - honest, reason, integrity and fortitude.

Sometimes the Page of Swords implies that your entire situation is one suffused with the spirit of learning, discovery, and mental activities of all kinds. At such times, use your mind and enjoy the delights of the intellect.

Yeah... the use your mind, be truthful, be just parts didn't say much too me today.  Well, the use your mind part did, and I"m always truthful, and try always to be just, but... the have fortitude part... hit me square.

I have freaky cards and they're reading my journal, as well as watching me or something.

Just sayin'

Today sees 2 cards

Today sees the pulling of 2 cards.  The first is mine, the second  I pulled for a friend.

Mine...
The 9 of Swords

Worry
Guilt
Anguish

Not the most pleasant card.  But it doesn't always indicate major distress.  Often it is just a sign of some element of unhappiness or trouble ~ a vulnerable spot in your life.  Often a warning that the path you are going down may be a difficult one.

Celtic:  Madness

Viking:  Svipdagr ~ death, disappointment, help

The one I pulled for my friend...

Be Creative
Be Enthusiastic
Be Confident
Be Courageous

The Page of Wands is a messenger bringing you opportunities for passion.  He delivers real chances to experience creativity, courage, charm and inspiration ~ the wonders of the Wands suit.

Celtic:  The Warrior

Viking:  The Giant Fjolvarr ~ Teacher, dark haired young man, good understanding

I would rather have pulled the Page of Wands than the 9 of Swords... that sure sounds like more fun.  And my Viking deck says it comes with a dark haired young man... hey... I want one ;)  Totally a more fun card.
